About Float Left Labs
The Name Float Left is derived from a common style used to align elements on a page in Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). The name is a tribute to our computer programming roots.
History
As an alumni of the ASAP Media Services student organization at the University of Maine at Orono Kelley Muir yearned to build a similar organization in her home state of New Hampshire. Realizing the void in experience students have between school and career and the readily available supply of college students in the Manchester area Kelley entered her idea into the inaugural New Hampshire Business Start-Up Challenge where local start up businesses compete for funding.
After winning the competition in June of 2009 Kelley invested her start up funds into location, equipment, student selection, and new project initiation. Now with Float Left Labs running and growing, we all look forward to the bright future of the organization and its future alumni.
