Fellowships – What to Expect
Fellowships | Who We are Looking for | What to Expect | FAQ | Apply

Working with Float Left Labs means you will be learning valuable skills in the media, advertising and non-profit industries while making a difference to thousands of people and organizations around you and throughout New Hampshire. Compensation not only includes money to be used towards your education, but also priceless training, skills and networking.
The students selected for the fellowship and internships will be working in a team environment to complete projects for selected non-profits and other community initiatives. You’ll also have the opportunity to propose your own team projects: your own ideas put to paper, designed and built.
This is not your typical internship or work study job. Paid fellows will be working on real projects for real clients. Students are expected to fill all the necessary roles, from project manager to designer and developer. Not sure where you fit? That’s fine. You’ll have a chance to stretch your mind and go beyond your comfort zone. Develop your own skills and let us help you find where you excel the most. When the project is complete, your work will be used in the real world, not just in a classroom. You may see your creation on the TV station you watch, a site you frequent, or the billboard you pass every day on the way to your fellowship.
The students will be compensated at the starting rate of $8/hr and allowed to work up to 20 hours a week, if work is available, in the Float Left Labs office. In addition to monetary compensation, we are working with partners to provide access to additional resources, training, and experiences. While you develop your projects, you’ll also be developing invaluable connections with real-world contacts in the marketing, advertising, and technology industries in the area.
The students volunteering in an unpaid internship will work specifically on community projects, not for a specific non profit. These are less intensive but still provide the experience of working in a team and with professionals. These projects include the Open Source digital whiteboard system, open chalk, and New England Givecamp.
